This product was planned and manufactured in collaboration with a domestic YUGI craftsman brand with over 40 years of experience.
This shaving bowl is crafted by Korean artisans using a traditional Korean YUGI material (78% copper + 22% tin).
Inspired by the designs of common braziers and everyday tableware from the Joseon Dynasty, it has a simple design.
Compared to pure copper,
it is more durable, less prone to scratches and deformation, and has a stable oxidation and color change rate.
Unlike copper, which quickly develops a dark red or greenish patina,
this shaving bowl slowly transforms into a deep gold tone.
The greatest appeal of HWAYEON shaving bowls lies in their "patina," which develops a deeper,
more luxurious color with repeated use.
Newly manufactured bowls are a bright golden hue, but with repeated shaving,
the oils from the shaving soap reach the surface, and with the user's touch,
the color naturally transforms into a calm, classic, old gold tone.
Over time, they become your own unique, one-of-a-kind shaving bowl.
With a durability of approximately 500 years, they are guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Oiling after receiving the product (recommended)
After opening the product, apply an appropriate amount of cooking oil to a paper towel, spread it over the entire surface, and then rinse thoroughly with a neutral detergent or shaving soap. This will stabilize the bowl surface and remove any remaining impurities.
*Precautions for use*
After use, thoroughly rinse off all soap and water.
Do not store alkaline soap in this product for extended periods of time.

This product is a handcrafted piece made using the traditional casting method.
While cast, each piece is individually refined and polished by hand by artisans.
The interior, in particular, cannot be machine-made, so it is entirely polished by hand.
Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, the surface may show minor marks or variations in color.
These are not defects but are a natural characteristic of the KOREAN YUGI.
Minor lines, marks, or partial color changes (such as black spots) on the interior are
either a natural oxidation layer formed during the metal's cooling process or marks from manual polishing.
Over time, the surface will stabilize,
developing a subtler, deeper color.
